The German Design Council was founded as a foundation in 1953 by decree of the German Federal Parliament at the initiative of the German Parliament. It supports the business world in all aspects of design and is one of the world’s leading centers of expertise on design. The German Design Council repeatedly champions good design through its competitions, exhibitions, conferences, seminars and publications. The jury is made up of experts from different disciplines, from business, science and the design industry who select ten winners from ten competition categories.
The corporate design of DR-WALTER was nominated for the 2009 ‘German Design Award’ of the German Design Council. Concept and design of DR-WALTER’s corporate design were created by Philipp Thesen and Stefan Holzhausen.
