The German Travel Association (DRV) was founded in 1950 in Frankfurt am Main. Today, it is the largest tourism lobby group in Germany. Its 5,000 member companies combine for around 90% of the entire travel sector’s turnover.

The association represents the interests of tour operators, travel agents and tourism service providers to authorities, industry and the general public. Dr. Walter is now also a member of the DRV.

Dr. Walter is the leading expert in developing and selling tailored insurance solutions for long-term stays abroad. The insurance expert provides cover to holiday travelers, language students, students abroad, au pairs, aid workers and employees of international companies all around the world.

Germans are the world’s travel champions. They spend more on foreign travel than any other nation, namely almost 65bn euros per year. The tourism industry is therefore an important economic factor in Germany and provides about 2.9 million jobs.

The German Travel Association (DRV)
The DRV is the trade association of the German tourism industry and represents the interests of tour operators and travel agents to governments and the general public at national and international level. The DRV provides information about the benefits of package tours and professional travel services and promotes organized holidays and professionally managed business travel. The association’s members combine for around 90% of the turnover of Germany’s travel agencies and tour operators.
