Reinhard Bellinghausen was happy to take the time to welcome the new mayor, Guido Vierkötter, on his inaugural visit. Vierkötter has been mayor of Neunkirchen-Seelscheid since the 2025 local elections. He came to get to know one of the major employers in the community in the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis district. Together with Thomas Maffei, head of the Office for Community Development, they discussed ideas and opportunities for the growing business hub of the communities of Much and Neunkirchen-Seelscheid.

The focus of the discussion was the Innovations-Quartier Neunkirchen-Süd. On the commercial site of the former Thurn grounds, companies, startups, universities, research institutions, and investors are to be provided with space for forward-looking projects and sustainable development in the region. The goal is to create high-quality jobs, foster positive synergies along value chains, and promote close collaboration between business, politics, and academia. Incidentally, apartments are also being built in the Innovation Quarter, creating a new neighborhood with new housing.
