The insurance broker’s premium turnover rose by more than 20 percent in 2015. Every year, the company provides counsel and insurance to more than 100,000 travelers all over the world.

Last year, Dr. Walter generated a premium turnover of almost 25 million Euros, an increase of more than 20 percent compared to 2014. The company specializes in developing and selling insurance policies for short and long-term stays abroad.

Holiday travelers, students and expats
With an increase of 40 percent, providing insurance cover to holiday travelers again accounted for the largest share of sales, closely followed by insurance solutions for foreign students in Germany and international student programs. The company also recorded significant growth in their business with expatriates: Dr. Walter covers an increasing number of Germans who live and work abroad.

Digital projects
Since the late nineties, www.reiseversicherung.com has been one of the most successful websites for the comparison and purchase of travel insurance solutions. The website had more than one million visitors in 2015 alone. Dr. Walter is already working on new comparison and evaluation tools to further improve the functionality and user experience of the website.
In 2016, Dr. Walter will also launch its safety app MY-SAFETY-ASSISTANT: it will provide real-time information such as travel safety warnings, country information and news concerning the traveler’s current whereabouts.

Service-oriented communication
"Many potential customers search online for travel insurance solutions. But our customers also ask us about tailored solutions on all other communication channels", said Dr. Walter’s Managing Director Reinhard Bellinghausen. 68,699 people interested in our products called the Dr. Walter service team in 2015 and asked for tailored advice. The company further received a large number of requests via email and social media. As a result of Dr. Walter’s handling of these requests, the company was awarded by TÜV Nord for its excellent customer service for the fourth year in a row.
