Most host families in Germany protect their au pairs with insurance developed by DR-WALTER. In addition to the well-established M, L, and Z rates, AU-PAIR24 now also offers the new XL rate, which meets numerous customer requests for an extended range of services.

What does the XL rate offer?

In addition to comprehensive coverage for acute medical treatment of newly occurring illnesses, XL also includes:

• Preventive care within the scope of statutory programs (e.g., gynecologist, dental prophylaxis)
• Vaccinations recommended by the Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) and the Robert Koch Institute (reimbursement of up to €500 per insurance year).

This enables us to provide au pairs with comprehensive health care during their stay – a valuable addition to the existing benefits.

In addition to health insurance, AU-PAIR24 also includes accident and deportation cost insurance as well as liability insurance. The latter covers the au pair in their capacity as a private individual and within the scope of specific au pair activities.

Outward and return journeys also insured

New regulation: Our insurance confirmations now clearly state: “Outward and return journeys are also insured.” This makes it clear—even for embassies—that the au pair is covered for the entire journey.

If the visa has not yet been issued, host families can initially only provide an estimated date of entry on the insurance application. This can be changed without any complications when the au pair actually begins their journey.
