DR-WALTER is setting an example of active responsibility - and doing so right on its own doorstep. As part of our sustainability program, employees were invited to submit ideas for regional projects worthy of support. For DR-WALTER, one of the largest employers in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid, it was clear that this commitment should primarily benefit the local community.

A project close to our hearts was quickly found: When it became known that the climbing frame at Tageseinrichtung für Kinder Seelkirchen e. V. was no longer usable and that financing a new piece of playground equipment posed a major challenge, it was clear to DR-WALTER: We’re here to help.

The company supported the purchase of a new climbing frame from Westfalia - a company known for sustainable and innovative children’s play equipment and awarded the “Blauer Engel” eco-label - with a generous donation. Together with other sponsors - including local banks as well as numerous parents and relatives - the project was successfully implemented. Many small donations through a crowdfunding campaign also contributed to its realization.

At the grand opening ceremony last week, the new playground equipment was officially handed over to the children at the daycare center. Everyone was thrilled  - not just the children, but everyone involved. Laura Schröter, head of the Partnernet team and herself a mother of children at the daycare center, spoke on behalf of many parents at DR-WALTER to emphasize how valuable the new climbing frame is for the children’s development and sense of community. She expressed her gratitude to all the supporters who made this project possible.

Football shirts for the U9 team

But that’s not all: At the initiative of the employees, another portion of the sustainability budget went toward new football shirts for the U9 team of FSV Schwarz-Weiß Neunkirchen-Seelscheid 1926 e. V. - an investment in youth sports in the region that will benefit many children now and in the future. 

Through projects like these, DR-WALTER demonstrates how important social commitment and regional ties are to the company. These values are driven by the ideas and dedication of its own employees.
