Dr. Walter GmbH aims at further internationalization

10.10.2008

Dr. Walter GmbH, renowned insurance broker and travel insurance expert, expands its educational travel business area and is therefore taking a more global approach.

So far, Dr. Walter’s development and mediation of tailored insurance coverage mainly focused on au pairs and language students as well as members of international companies and aid organizations coming from or traveling to Germany. With its new approach, Dr. Walter GmbH also puts a stronger focus on insuring travels and stays abroad for all nationalities and target countries.

Especially with regard to the area of international youth and educational travel operators, worldwide networking has nowadays become an indispensable strategy. That is why Dr. Walter GmbH recently became a member of the World Youth Student & Educational (WYSE) Travel Confederation, one of the largest associations for youth and educational travel. The WYSE Travel Confederation unites operators of international educational projects from 118 countries. Its annual conference provides a platform for the exchange of information concerning recent developments and future co-operations.

The Managing Director of Dr. Walter GmbH, Mr. Reinhard Bellinghausen, regards its company’s participation in this year’s conference, which was held in Istanbul in early October, as a crucial point in the conquest of international markets: “The WYSE membership represents an important step for us to gain further ground in the area of international youth and educational travel operators.”
Ongoing internationalization and globalization is seen as the next big challenge for Dr. Walter GmbH. Founded more than 40 years ago as a family business, the company started as an insurer for private and business travel as well as stays abroad. Today, Dr. Walter GmbH is one of the leading experts in this market with a staff of 50 at its headquarters in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid (North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany).
