Successful 23rd Annual EAIE Conference in Copenhagen

27.09.2011

This year’s EAIE Conference (European Association for International Education), which took place in Copenhagen from 13 to 16 September 2011, broke all previous records with an attendance of over 4,200 participants from 87 countries. The EAIE is a non-profit organization whose main aim is to stimulate and facilitate the internationalization of higher education in Europe and around the world. Among its members are international education professionals such as rectors, professors and international exchange coordinators. Travel insurance expert Dr. Walter joined the EAIE in 2010.

In addition to presentations, workshops and special events, this year’s EAIE conference featured a new element: moderated dialogues for the interactive exchange of knowledge from the international higher education sector. Presenting all different kinds of study and research opportunities abroad, the conference was also the ideal forum for the EU initiative ‘Youth on the Move’. As one of the 250 exhibitors, Dr. Walter GmbH presented its insurance solutions for academic exchange and research stays abroad.

As the only German insurance broker at this year’s EAIE Conference, Dr. Walter already cooperates with various European universities within the EU’s mobility programs. Together with its insurance partner ACE, Dr. Walter developed the tailored insurance solution ‘Erasmus Mundus’ that meets the insurance requirements defined by the European Union. It provides scholarship holders with the possibility to get insurance cover for their international programs through group contracts for universities or through individual insurance solutions.

Dr. Walter’s International Sales Director Claudia Reichstein was very positive about the event: "The conference provided us with the unique opportunity to meet many of our Erasmus Mundus universities in one place. Ever since we went global several years ago, we have been taken very seriously as an international company when it comes to quality and innovation."
